The Craiova Grand Prix Rapid, held on September 13–14, 2025, marked the final stage of the Romania Grand Prix, bringing the circuit to a dynamic and memorable conclusion in a new host city. Known for its rich history, vibrant cultural scene, and energetic atmosphere, Craiova provided the perfect setting for a high-level rapid chess event.
The 2025 edition attracted over 400 participants from more than 20 countries, confirming its strong international appeal and the growing impact of the Romania Grand Prix circuit. With a total prize fund of €25,000, the tournament delivered both competitive intensity and rewarding opportunities for players of all levels.
As the final stage of the series, the Craiova Grand Prix Rapid combined speed, strategy, and excitement, offering spectators and participants alike a thrilling chess experience. With a strong field of players, a well-organized format, and an engaged local community, the event successfully captured the spirit of the Grand Prix and provided a fitting finale to the 2025 edition.
